1. Punch: It reciprocates in the horizontal direction. Generally, 4 to 6 die cavities can be set. It is a forming mechanism for accumulation, heading, punching, flanging and other upsetting processes, and it is also the main force-applying mechanism.
2. Movable die: it can be opened and closed upwards, downwards or horizontally to hold long bars and bear the upsetting force at the end.
3. Cutting mechanism: used to separate the forging from the long bar. Horizontal forging equipment is driven by a crank slider mechanism. Due to the large workpiece to be processed, the upsetting force and clamping force are large, the machine needs to have sufficient rigidity to ensure the accuracy of the flat forging. According to the position of the parting surface of the die, Horizontal forging equipment can be divided into two types: vertical parting and horizontal parting.
The commonly used Horizontal forging equipment is vertical parting. The forging equipment with horizontal split die has better operating conditions and is easy to realize automation, but the structure is more complicated. The specifications of forging equipment are expressed by nominal working force (forging force) or maximum forgeable bar diameter. The nominal pressure is generally 3150-30000 kN, and the corresponding maximum forgeable bar diameter is 50-270 mm.
